If you have ever had a loss of income you may have found it difficult to decide which bill is more important that another. It is something you must be aware of, which bill are essential. Bills can be grouped into three categories: essential, nonessential and borderline. Just because one creditor is screaming the loudest does not mean he needs to be paid first. At this point it is up to you to be in control of where your funds will go.
The essential bills should be first on your list like mortgage or rent payment, food and utility bills. Next would be your car insurance and medical needs can be in this group also. If you have child support due or loans for a vehicle or furniture, these are next.
Nonessential bills can be in the first category also, but that is a decision only you can make. The borderline bills can be things like life insurance, child daycare, health clubs, clothing and gyms. Know which bills must be paid first will help you to divide up your funds for the most important things.
